Acremonium species
- Health Effects
- Reported to be allergenic. Common type I and III allergen. It can produce mycetomas, infections of the nails, onychomycosis, corneal ulcers, eumycotic mycetoma, endophthalmitis, meningitis, and endocarditis.
Acremonium species are found growing in plant-decaying matter, plant debris, soils, and decaying organic matter. Some species are found indoors.
