- Health Effects
- Reported to be allergenic as a type I and III allergen. P. variotii can cause paecilomycosis, which can manifest itself as keratitis, cellulitis, endocarditits, alveolitis and others. Linked to wood-trimmers disease and humidifier associated illnesses. Some members of this genus are reported to cause pneumonia.
