The Customer Support/Sales Representative is the first link between Centek Laboratories’ clients, potential clients and technical laboratory personnel. On a typical day, the qualified candidate will make sales calls while reviewing incoming chains of custody and client profiles to ensure all required information is present, field calls from clients regarding the status of their work, manage Centek’s social media accounts, engage clients in gathering informal feedback, and manage client expectations when unforeseen circumstances arise. The underlying goals of the CS/SR are to establish long-lasting partnerships between Centek and our clients and pursue new client opportunities. The former includes developing a customer relationship program. Balancing and maintaining current client relationships while mining client growth opportunities will be the greatest challenge in this position. As a result, the
ability to balance shifting priorities is paramount.
Shift
- Full-time position, 40 hours/week
- Must be available to work overtime and occasional weekends as necessary
- 10% – 20% travel
Requirements
- A four-year college degree preferred
- 2+ years of demonstrated, successful customer service experience (Industry knowledge a plus)
- 1-2 years of experience or training in marketing or sales preferred, but willing to make exceptions for the right candidate.
- 3+ years of demonstrated, successful sales experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving and closing skills
- Valid US work authorization
- Current Driver’s License
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment

- Ability to multi-task and work under time pressure
- Capable of clearing background check
Responsibilities
- Impacts sales results by developing, supporting and executing field marketing and segment activities.
- Works with Laboratory Director to determine appropriate customized programs and strategies for various market segments.
- Advises on new ideas to generate revenue for various clientele.
- Influences the sales process through cold calling and field visits.
- Builds excitement and urgency for the customer through strong closing techniques to capture the sale.
- Uses creative ability to initiate target marketing through social media.
- Establishes and maintains long-term relationships with customer by functioning as primary point of contact between client and lab personnel.
- Fields inquiries regarding new sample submission and current sample status, performs outreach to clients to capture missing information or communicate challenges/manage expectations regarding timing.
- Handles client concerns regarding work and circumstances within and outside the lab’s control.
- Communicates pricing, including helping clients understand pricing rationale.
- Evaluates business aspects of client engagements through financial analysis (ensuring profitability, identifying cross-selling opportunities with sister laboratory).
- Becomes conversant in industry developments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
