The Analyst prepares and analyzes cannabis and cannabis-derived product samples for instrumental analysis using techniques in compliance with established laboratory Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures.
Shift
- Fulltime position, 35 – 40 hours/week
- Must be available to work overtime and occasional weekends as necessary
Requirements
- B.S. Chemistry / Biology or related science field
- Attention to detail
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Capable of adjusting to rapidly changing priorities
- Desire to learn and increase level of responsibility
- Proficient in data entry and review
Responsibilities
- Receive and log samples and other lab supplies into the Laboratory Information Management System
- Organize the daily sample processing queue
- Grind / homogenize samples and distribute material as necessary for requested services
- Label and store samples
- Perform extractions, filtrations, and any other required sample preparation steps, including quality control samples
- Perform various microbiological and chemical analyses including both manual and instrumental techniques
- Quickly escalate sample or quality controls issues to the Lab Manager
- Prepare and label chemical solutions
- Properly dispose of laboratory waste and excess sample material
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work areas
- Other duties as assigned
